New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP and JDU (U) leader Ali Anwar almost landed himself in soup after making a controversial remark on the newly elected Textile minister Smriti Irani.
In a shocking statement, Anwar said “Good that Irani has been elected as textile minister; it will help her cover body.”
After realising that he had crossed the line, Anwar clarified that he “was referring to the bodies of the people in general”.
After a major cabinet reshuffle, BJP leader Smriti Irani’s post of HRD minister was handed over to Prakash Javadekar, who was previously an Independent Minister State for Environment, Forests and Climate.
