New Delhi: Ahead of the meeting of the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee which is investigating the cash-for-query allegations against Mahua Moitra, JDU MP and panel member Giridhari Yadav backed the TMC MP while criticizing the panel for preparing the case report without any discussion.
"They are openly violating the rules. How can they prepare the report without discussion?'' he told ANI.
Meanwhile, Committee chairman Vinod Sonkar said that the panel has thoroughly investigated all the allegations against Moitra and will meet at 4 pm to discuss the report.
He further stated that the report will be presented before the Lok Sabha Speaker today.
Sonkar said, "The committee has thoroughly investigated all the allegations and has prepared a report. The meeting will be held at 4 pm. There will be discussion on the report and the process to adopt it will be initiated. No one is above the Constitution and law...the report will be presented before the Lok Sabha Speaker today."
He added, "The complaint made by Nishikant Dubey and affidavit submitted by Hiranandani, in the two meetings before this, we examined the complains and Mahua Moitra's statement was also recorded. BSP MP Danish Ali, Janata Dal (United) MP Giridhari Yadav, and Congress MP Uttam Kumar Reddy were among those who "walked out" of the meeting.
