The Srinagar police busted a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module in a joint operation with security forces on Saturday, said the Kashmir Zone Police. 4 terrorists were held in the operation and a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession, the police said, adding that an FIR has been registered and investigation is underway. 


"Srinagar Police along with SF's busted JeM terror module, 04 terrorist associates arrested & huge cache of Arms/Ammunition recovered from their possession. FIR registered, Investigation set in progress," said the Kashmir Zone police in its post on X. 


The operation comes ahead of the Lok Sabha polls which are scheduled to begin from April 19 and continue for seven phases with the last one to be held on June 1. 






In view of the upcoming polls, the Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday established a round-the-clock election-related helpline at the police control room in Jammu, according to an official statement as per a PTI report. 


The 24x7 helpline has been set up to ensure the smooth conduct of election, it added.


“To address election-related queries and concerns, J-K Police Jammu Zone established a dedicated 24x7 election helpline number 8899334482 at Police Control Room Jammu," it said, adding, "Citizens can now reach out to seek information or clarification regarding election-related affairs."

The J&K Police said that the setting up of the helpline number underscores its commitment to uphold the credibility and transparency of the electoral process.


“By facilitating communication and assistance, the police aimed to ensure a safe and secure environment for voters to exercise their democratic rights,” it said.
