New Delhi: Three terrorists of the outfit Jaish-i-Muhammad were killed in an encounter with security forces at the Najibhat crossing in the Kreeri area of Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. One JKP personnel was also martyred, said IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, as reported by news agency ANI. Both, the police and the army were involved in the operation that lasted for a few hours. As per the sources the three Jaish militants have been identified as Haneef, Ali Bhai and Shah Wali, all residents of Pakistan.
This year, so far 22 Pakistani militants have been killed in separate encounters, according to the Kashmir Police Zone's Twitter handle.
"We've killed three Pakistani Militants of JeM. They were active in this area for the last 3-4 months and we were tracking them. One police personnel also got killed. Till now in this year, we've killed 22 Pakistani militants," read the information on Twitter.
Kumar also said that incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists.
