A migrant labourer from Bihar was shot at by terrorists at Soadnara Sumbal in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, as per Kashmir Police. The labourer succumbed to his injuries following the attack, the police said. The deceased labourer was identified as Mohd Amrez, son of Mohd Jalil and a resident of Bihar's Madhepura. Soon after being shot, he was shifted to the hospital for treatment where he died.


The Kashmir Zone Police updated about the incident on Twitter.






Deceased migrant's brother said: "Around 12.20 am my brother woke me up and said that a firing has started. He (deceased) wasn't around, we thought he went to the toilet. We went to check, saw him lying in a pool of blood and contacted security personnel. He was brought to Hajin & later referred but he died."






Meanwhile, rifleman Nishant Malik who was injured in the terror attack in an Army camp in Rajouri died on Friday taking the death toll to four, according to officials, reported news agency PTI.


The pre-dawn suicide strike in the Army camp on Thursday left four soldiers dead while two attackers were gunned down in the shootout, according to the report.  The attack marked the return of ‘fidayeen’ to Jammu and Kashmir after more than three years.

The terrorists, who are believed to be from the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed(JeM), were heavily armed with deadly ‘steel core’ bullets and were shot down after an over four-hour gun battle which started at 2 AM and ended just before 6.30 AM, the police said.


The attack came four days ahead of 75th Independence Day to be celebrated next Monday.
