New Delhi: Three terrorists have been neutralised in two separate encounters that broke out in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tral and Kulgam areas, taking the number of terrorists decimated within a period of five days to sixteen.


One terrorist was neutralised in the encounter between security forces and terrorists which broke out at Hafoo area of Tral in Pulwama, earlier on Tuesday, while two terrorists were killed in the encounter in Redwani, Kulgam. In Pulwana the terrorist has been identified as the deputy chief of Zakir Musa-led Ansar Ghazwat ul Hind Shakir Hassan Dar.

One SLR and an AK 47 have been recovered from the terrorists in Kulgam who are yet to be identified.

It is to be noted that security forces had neutralised seven terrorists on November 25 who belonged to the terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed, lashkar-e-Tayyiba and Hizbul Mujahideen. Six were killed in Shopian while one was eliminated in Pulwama.

Earlier on November 23, six terrorists were killed in an encounter with security  in Anantnag district. LeT commander who was involved in killing of journalist Shujaat Bukhari was among the six terrorists killed by security forces.

Operation All Out:

The Operation All Out that was initiated in June 2017 with an objective of eliminating the most wanted terrorists has largely been successful so far with 9 of the 12 targeted terrorists being killed. Now three terrorist commanders including Zakir Musa, Riyaz Naiku and Zeenat-ul-Islam remain.
