Srinagar: Pakistani guerrilla from the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit was killed in an ambush by the security forces at the outskirts of Baramulla's Sopore town on Tuesday. 



An encounter broke out between security forces & terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir late last night.

The encounter took place in the Haritar Tarzoo area in Baramulla district (J&K).

Abu Umar Khatab was killed after the army and police laid an ambush in Haritar Tarzoo village on Monday night, a police officer said here.

The militants opened fire as they were passing through the area early on Tuesday. But one of them was killed in the operation.

The encounter began at 3 am in the morning. 




Baramulla district is one of the 22 districts in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to ANI, arms and ammunition have also been recovered during the ongoing encounter.

On Thursday, a gunfight broke out between terrorists and Indian army soldiers in Shahgnd village of Bandipora district in Srinagar. According to the police, two army soldiers were injured in the encounter.
