Ahead of the Eid ul-Azha, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, prominent Muslim organisation, on Thursday urged Muslims to strictly adhere to the government guidelines while offering sacrifice on the festival. It also urged the Muslims to avoid sharing pictures of slaughtered animals on social media.
This comes as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued an order prohibiting the Muslims from offering Namaz on strees and sacrificing animals at undesignated spots.
Also known as the festival of sacrifice, Eid ul-Azha, will be celebrated on Monday i.e. June 17.
The president of Jamiat, Maulana Arshad Madani, stated in his message to the Muslims, that there is no substitute for sacrifice in Islam, adding that it is the religious duty of Muslims to sacrifice which is obligatory for whom it has been prescribed for, news agency PTI reported
"It is important that Muslims take precautionary measures while offering sacrifice. Avoid advertising, especially sharing pictures of slaughtered animals on social media," PTI quoted Madani as saying.
The Jamiat president also urged Muslims to perform 'Qurbani' strictly as per the guidelines set by the government and avoid sacrificing the animals that have been prohibited.
Madani further said: "If mischievous elements, at any place, prevent the sacrifice of a buffalo also, some sensible and influential people should take the administration into confidence and then sacrifice should be offered."
"If, however, there is no way to fulfil this religious obligation, then a sacrifice should be offered in a nearby place where there is no difficulty," he added.
Stressing that the sacrifice must be done keeping in mind the cleanliness, Madani advised Muslims to "take special care of cleanliness on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha", adding that the animal waste should be buried in a certain way that does not cause a stench rather than throwing the waste on roads and in drains.
The Jamiat president asked the Muslims to take "every possible effort to ensure that no one gets hurt by our action."
He said that incase of any kind of "provocation by sectaria elements", Muslims should file a complaint on the matter at local police stations "with patience".
Islamic Centre Of India Issues 13-Point Guideline For Eid Ul-Azha
The Islamic Centre of India has also issued a 13-point guideline for Muslims in view of Eid ul-Azha.
Talking about the same, head of Islamic Centre of India Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali said: "Islamic Centre of India has issued a 13-point guideline for Eid al-Adha in which it is stated that we should not offer prayers on the road but in various Eidgahs and mosques. After ‘namaz’, we should all pray for peace in Palestine and for the present weather in our country and all over the world.
On the ocassion of Eid ul-Azha, Muslims across the globe sacrifice animals, as per the law in their respective countries. The sacrifice signifies their willingness and obedience to God, which was showcased by Prophet Ibraham when he offered his son Ismael as a sacrifice.
