Officials stated on Tuesday that two suspected terrorists were killed when the Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, news agency PTI reported.


An infiltration attempt was undertaken in the Naushera region between Monday and Tuesday nights, according to a defence spokesperson.

“The reconnaissance of the general area of the attempted infiltration site is in progress. In reconnaissance by quadcopter, two bodies of infiltrators have been observed,” the spokesman was quoted by PTI in its report.


He stated that the region is being inspected more thoroughly.

A gang of suspected terrorists tried to sneak into Pukharni hamlet of Laam near Naushera under the cover of night, according to authorities.


They said one of the terrorists stepped on a landmine, causing an explosion at 10 p.m. on Monday.

On Tuesday morning, army soldiers following the terrorists' movements erected a perimeter and began searching the area.


The latest infiltration attempt in the Naushera region comes on the wake of the arrest on Sunday of a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) guide who also worked for a Pakistani army intelligence unit.

Tabarak Hussain (32), a native of Sabzkot village in Kotli in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), was apprehended for the second time in six years while attempting to cross the border.
