The Jammu and Kashmir Administration set a new record on Wednesday by providing self employment and entrepreneurship opportunities to more than 94,680 youngsters in a single day.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that Jammu and Kashmir created a new record by granting sanction letters to youngsters to fulfill their dreams of establishing new startups and businesses that will enable them to create jobs rather than looking for them, reported news agency PTI.

Sinha, who was there to attend a function, lauded the Jammu Kashmir Bank for bolstering the spirit of the two ongoing programs, Swarozgar Utsav and Ghar Ghar KCC Abhiyan, which are aimed at empowering farmers and youth financially, the report said.

The Governor said, "Today, J&K creates a new record by distributing sanction letters to set up new units and startups that will fulfill the dream of youths and their aspirations of being job creators and not job seekers."

"This also marks a significant leap forward in transforming the Union Territory's economic landscape," Sinha added.

He also said that the Swarozgar Utsav will provide Rs 1,384 crore for establishing new units and startups. The training and infrastructure required to create sustainable employment for the youth in these units will also be provided under this initiative, the report added.

"I see a new revolution is under way in the agriculture and allied sectors that will construct new pathways for Jammu and Kashmir's prosperity. Swarozgar Utsav for entrepreneurship and self-employment covers all Panchayats of J&K and the Jammu and Kashmir Bank will provide Rs. 1,384 crore to set up new units and startups," IANS quoted the governor.

As part of the Ghar-ghar KCC Abhiyan, Kisan Credit Cards were given to approximately 2 lakh farmers in order to guarantee that they have access to adequate, reliable, and affordable credit, Sinha said.

"I see a new revolution is underway in the agriculture and allied sector that will construct new pathways for the prosperity of Jammu Kashmir," PTI quoted Sinha.

In addition to congratulating the business owners and farmers who received funding from the Jammu and Kashmir Bank, he also launched the Agriculture Production Department's Kisan Sathi Chatbot which is an AI-based farmer-friendly application, PTI reported.
