New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday attached the properties of two over-ground workers (OGWs) for sheltering terrorists in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, ANI reported.


According to officials, police attached the double-storied residential houses of both the accused persons in the presence of the Executive Magistrate for providing shelter and logistic support to terrorists in Bandipora.


They said that the action was part of an ongoing crackdown on harbouring terrorists and providing logistic support to them.


Both the accused have been identified as Abdul Majeed Reshi, father of accused Aijaz Ahmad Reshi at Gundpora Rampura, and Mohammad Jamal Malik, father of accused Maqsood Ahmad Malik, a resident of Chitteybandey jurisdiction of Police Station Aragam Bandipora, under section 25 UAP Act.



"Worth to mention here that both the accused persons were terrorist associates and stand already arrested," police said, according to IANS.


"Accordingly, the process for attachment of property belonging to the above accused falling within the ambit proceeds of terrorism was initiated u/s 25 of UA(P) Act by the order of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir vide order No. DIVCOM - 'K'/Rtn/05/2023 dated 10-02-2023," police said.


"According to the notice, the owner of these houses have been restrained to 'transfer, lease out, dispose-off, change its nature or deal with the said property in any manner without the permission of designated authority," the police stated.


"Any violation will attract penal provision of law," the police stated.


Meanwhile, the State Investigation Agency (SIA), on Saturday conducted raids at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a terror-funding case. The officials said that the searches were conducted at multiple locations in south Kashmir's Anantnag and Kulgam districts. 


They said the searches were carried out by the SIA sleuths, who were assisted by police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.


The searches were part of an ongoing probe into a terror-funding case, the officials said.
