New Delhi: Rajasthan police on Wednesday arrested the general manager of a reputed five-star hotel in the city who allegedly tried to sexually harass a Mexican woman after forcefully entering her room. The victim has lodged a complaint of sexual harassment at the police control room yesterday. A case has been registered under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) against the manager identified as Rishi Raj Singh of ITC Rajputana, a luxury hotel in Jaipur. The police are currently questioning Singh, while, he will be presented in the court on Friday. The Mexican embassy has meanwhile been informed about the incident.


There were two women from Mexico who had come to India on a tour. The incident took place around 11:30 pm on Wednesday. The woman who was lodged in the hotel has alleged that the manager had barged into her room at the dead of night. Evidence like CCTV footage has also been retrieved in which the manager was seen entering the hotel room.

Meanwhile, another incident of sexual harassment with a Canadian national in the national capital has surfaced on Wednesday. Delhi Police have detained one person on the basis of the complaint that was registered by the victim. As per the report, the accused befriended the victim at a pub in Hauz Khas village where she had gone along with her friends. The victim went to the accused's place on his invitation where he assaulted her.
