Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were seen taking part in the Yoga Day celebrations on Friday, June 21. The two were seen performing various asanas as they led the International Day of Yoga celebrations. According to PTI, hundreds joined the Chief Minister and the Governor on the lawns of the Governor's House in Lucknow.  Several events were organised across Lucknow by various organisations, attracting people of all ages.


In a post on X, CM Yogi Adityanath wrote in Hindi, “Yoga is a complete discipline that unites us physically and mentally. On the occasion of the 10th International Yoga Day, today I participated in the mass yoga practice program organized in the Raj Bhavan premises, Lucknow along with Hon'ble Governor Anandiben Patel. There is an appeal to the people of the state to make yoga a part of their regular practice; it is very good for your health and long life. Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all yoga practitioners and residents of the state on International Yoga Day!”






Speaking on the occasion, Patel was quoted by PTI as saying, "International Yoga Day is actually a day for new encouragement. The day encourages us to take pride in our traditions." Speaking before her, the chief minister said yoga is a tool to make the mind and body healthy.


In Prayagraj, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya participated in a yoga event.


Yoga Day Celebrations Across Country 


Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav performed Yoga in Bhopal. While speaking to the media, he greeted everyone on International Yoga Day, and stated that “the whole world is a fan of Yoga now”.






Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, shared snippets of his yoga session in the morning today at Tezpur and wrote, “Yoga for a Fit India, Yoga for All! Participated in the State celebrations of the 10th International Day of Yoga at Tezpur. Yoga Day is a celebration of Bharat's unique gift to the world to remain fit and healthy.”






At the West Bengal Raj Bhawan, Governor CV Ananda Bose performed Yoga on the occasion. 






Goa CM Pramod Sawant also shared his greeting for the day and said that every block, school & college would be performing Yoga on the day at 6:30 AM. 






Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami performed Yoga with residents and tourists at Parvati Sarovar, Adi Kailash, Pithoragarh.






Tripura CM Manik Saha in an 'X' in Bangla wrote, "Due to the continuous efforts of our beloved Prime Minister,  Narendra Modi, Yoga practice is highly recognized internationally today. Yoga - for self and society. Participated in the state-level main program of 10th International Yoga Day at Hapaniya International Exhibition Center organized on this theme."






CM Bhupendra Patel performed yoga along with BSF jawans and others, at Nadabet India-Pakistan border zero point in Banaskantha district. 






Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi performs Yoga at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.






Bihar Deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha along with Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey perform yoga at Patliputra Sports Complex.






Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday appealed to citizens to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives. Speaking at an event in the Marine Drive area here to mark the 10th International Day of Yoga, Shinde said “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Baba Ramdev have popularised yoga worldwide”.


“Citizens must make yoga an integral part of their daily lives. Everyone must practise it daily, and not just one day,” he said.
