On International Yoga Day 2022, "Silent Warriors" of the Indian Army participated in a Yoga session in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch. "These Silent Warriors remain operationally ready to respond to any contingency and are always relied upon by soldiers during sensitive missions. These brave, reliable and indispensable force multipliers along with their handlers have thus earned a mark of respect and garnered a lot of appreciation in the Armed Forces," said Indian Army.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will not charge any entry fee at the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and other monuments on the occasion of International Day of Yoga on June 21, an official said on Monday.
Superintending Archaeologist of ASI (Agra Circle) Rajkumar Patel told PTI, "On the occasion of International Yoga Day, there will be free entry tickets for tourists at Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri and other ASI-protected monuments in Agra Circle and across India. The entry will be free for the entire day for all tourists, Indians and foreigners."

Background
International Yoga Day 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Modi is participating in a mass yoga event at Mysore Palace ground on the occasion of International Day of Yoga. As many as 19 'asanas' will be exhibited in 45 minutes. Union Minister for Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai are also attending the event. Around 15,000 people, including 1,200 children, are taking part in the event.
Integrating the event with the 75th year of India's Independence, 75 ministers of the Centre are also performing yoga at 75 historical and cultural sites in the country.
This year, the theme is "Yoga for Humanity". The theme portrays how yoga served humanity in alleviating suffering during the Covid pandemic, the PMO said in a statement.
The major attraction of the IDY celebrations will be the "Guardian Ring", whereby the events organised across the world on the occasion will be relayed throughout the day.
The idea of the International Day of Yoga was proposed by PM Narendra Modi in his speech at United Nations General Assembly in 2014. June 21 was picked as the date to celebrate Yoga Day as it is the longest day of the year.
The BJP has organised yoga sessions at 75,000 places across the country. BJP president JP Nadda is attending a yoga session in Noida. Law Minister Kiren Rijiju is leading yoga day celebrations at Arunachal Pradesh's Dong, India's eastern-most village. The village is located near the point where borders of India, China and Myanmar meet.
Home Minister Amit Shah is participating in the yoga program at the famous Jyotirlinga Trimbakeshwar temple complex in Nashik, Maharashtra, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is in Coimbatore.
