International Flights Suspended: DCGI Extends Suspension Of Operations To & From India Till June 30

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Friday announced that International scheduled commercial passenger flights to/from India will remain suspended until 30th June.

New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Friday announced that International scheduled commercial passenger flights to/from India will remain suspended until 30th June.

This restriction will not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA, the circular informed.

"In a partial modification of circular dated 26-06-2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the subject cited above regarding Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 IST of 30th June 2021," the fresh order reads.

As earlier mentioned, this restriction will not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA.

International Scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on case to case basis, DGCA stated.

This order comes as daily new cases in India were reported to be at their lowest in the last 44 days. At 1.86 lakh cases, a declining trend in new cases continues. Active caseload further declined to 23,43,152 with active cases decreased by 76,755 in the last 24 hours.

3660 people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 33,90,39,861 samples tested up to May 27. Of these, 20,70,508 samples tested yesterday.

With 2,59,459 patient recoveries reported during the last 24 hours, a total of 2,48,93,410 patients have recovered in the country so far. Recovery Rate increases to 90.34%

Weekly positivity rate currently at 10.42% & daily positivity rate at 9.00%, less than 10% for 4 consecutive days. A total of 20.57 crore vaccine doses administered so far.
