New Delhi: The Ministry of Health  has said that despite entering in the 10 worst-hit COVID-19 countries, it is to be marked that India’s recovery rate has improved to 41.61 per cent while the fatality rate remained the lowest in the world at 2.87 per cent now.

In a Live conference on Tuesday afternoon Health Ministry Joint Secretary, Lav Aggarwal hailed the Centre's decision of timely enforcing lockdown which has resulted in lowest fatality rate in the world. He said that the global average for case fatality is presently around 6.45%, which is way more than what India records at present.

"India has recorded the lowest fatality rate in the world. For India, the figure is as low as 2.87% now. India reported 0.3 per cent deaths per lakh population, one of the lowest among countries which have reported high number.
