New Delhi: On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, Indian Coast Guard on Tuesday shared an incredible video of hoisting the Indian flag underwater. The Indian Coast Guard members unfurled and saluted the national flag underwater near Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu.
In a seven-second video shared by ANI, one guard is seen holding the Indian flag, while the other members are seen saluting the flag.
In another video, the deep sea divers on Tuesday swam 30 feet down the sea level to hoist the national flag in Tamil Nadu's Rameshwaram.
In a video shared by news agency PTI, the divers can be seen hoisting the Indian flag under the sea.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort in Delhi and addressed the nation in his 10th consecutive Independence Day speech.
During his 2023 Independence Day speech, PM Modi said the resolve should be when the tricolour is unfurled in 2047 it is of "developed India".
He also proclaimed that India would be among the top three economies in the next five years. “When we came to power in 2014, we were in the 10th position in the global economic system. Today, with the efforts of 140 crore Indians, we have reached the fifth position. This did not happen just like that. The demon of corruption had the country in its clutches. We stopped leakages and created a strong economy,” he had said.
Around 1,800 people from different vocations, with their spouses, were invited from across the country to be a part of the celebrations at Red Fort as Special Guests.
