Jammu And Kashmir News: The Indian Army on Sunday paid tribute to the two soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty during two separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district, in which five terrorists were also killed. Lance Naik Pradeep Kumar of the elite para unit and Pravin Janjal Prabhaker of the Rashtriya Rifles unit were killed during the two gunfights in Modergam and Frisal Chinigam in Kulgam district.
Army's Chinar Corps Cadr, Chief Secretary UT J&K, DGP J&K, other dignitaries, and all ranks paid homage to the two soldiers. "Chinar Warriors salute the valour and sacrifice of both brave hearts. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved families & are committed to their well-being," the Indian Army said in a post on X.
The wreath-laying ceremony took place at Badamibagh cantonment in Srinagar on Sunday. "Martyrdom is not the end, it's the beginning of a Legend," the Army said in the post.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the twin encounters in J&K's Kulgam district climbed to eight on Sunday as security forces recovered bodies of two more terrorists, PTI reported, citing officials. The twin encounters began on Saturday in two villages of Kulgam district.
"Bodies of two terrorists were recovered from Modergam encounter site while four bodies of terrorists were recovered from Chinnigam site," the officials said, as quoted by PTI.

Two army soldiers, including an elite Para Commando, laid down their lives while battling the terrorists, they said. The anti-militancy operation was going on till last reports came in.
Meanwhile, in another incident, terrorists opened fire at an Army post in J&K's Rajouri district and the armed forces launched a search operation in the area.
The terrorists launched the offensive at around 3:50 am on Sunday morning in which a person was inured, sources told ABP News.
