Indian Air Force recruitment 2018: Interested and eligible candidates who aspire to be the part of the air arm of the Indian armed forces, are invited by the Indian Air Force to apply for the posts in Flying branch and Ground duty. In a recruitment notification, IAF has inviting candidates to apply for the position of a commissioned officer (Short Service Commission) (SSC) in flying branch and permanent commission (PC)/ Short Service Commission (SSC) in ground duty (technical and non-technical) branches. Roles and responsibility-
• FLYING BRANCH - As a Graduate/ Engineer, candidates can enter the Flying branch through the Air Force Academy.
• GROUND DUTY (TECHNICAL) BRANCHES - As an officer in the Ground Duty (Technical) Branch, you propel and manage your team to ensure that the Indian Air Force remains airworthy. You would be in charge of some of the most sophisticated equipment in the world by joining one of the sub-branches based on your qualification.
• GROUND DUTY (NON-TECHNICAL)BRANCHES - Managing human and material resources, the Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branch is the mechanism that steers the Indian Air Force.
Other details:
• Applications are also invited for NCC special entry scheme (for grant of PC/SSC in flying branch) and meteorology branch.
• The duration of training for flying and ground duty (technical) branches is 74 weeks and that of ground duty (non-technical) branches is 52 weeks.
