New Delhi: India has reported 33,376 new COVID-19 cases, 32,198 recoveries, and 308 deaths in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry informed on Saturday.


Meanwhile, India's active caseload stands at 3,91,516 - active cases account for 1.18 per cent of total cases. The recovery rate is currently at 97.49 per cent as 32,198 recoveries in the last 24 hours increased total recoveries to 3,23,74,497.


The weekly positivity rate (2.26 per cent) has been less than 3 per cent for last 78 days and daily positivity rate (2.10 per cent) has been less than 3 per cent for last 12 days, Health Ministry informed in its bulletin.


73.05 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

A total of 54,01,96,989 samples tested up to September 10, of which 15,92,135 samples were tested yesterday, the Indian Council of Medical Research informed.

Coronavirus Cases In States


Kerala, which has been a major contributor to India's daily infections, on Friday logged 25,010 new COVID-19 cases and 177 deaths, taking the caseload to 43,34,704 and the death toll to 22,303.


"There are 2,37,643 active COVID-19 cases and of that only 12.9 per cent have been hospitalised," State health minister Veena George informed in a release.


Meanwhile, 23,535 persons recovered from the disease today, taking the total cured to 40,74,200. There were 4,108 wards in 794 local self government bodies with a weekly infection population ratio above 7 per cent.


The Health Ministry on Thursday pointed out that 68.59 per cent of total Coronavirus cases in the last week were recorded in Kerala.


Maharashtra reported 4,154 new coronavirus infections and 44 fatalities on Friday, a health official said.


It took the tally of COVID-19 cases in the state to 64,91,179 and death toll to 1,38,061.


The number of daily cases and fatalities witnessed a marginal dip. On Thursday the state had reported 4,219 new COVID-19 cases and 55 fatalities.


With 4,524 persons discharged from hospitals, the total of recovered patients climbed to 62,99,760.


Maharashtra's case recovery rate stands at 97.05 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.


On the other hand, no COVID-related death was recorded in Delhi in a day while 36 fresh cases were reported during the same period with a positivity rate of 0.05 per cent.


According to official figures, only one fatality due to COVID has been reported in this month so far -- on September 7. The death toll due to the coronavirus infection in Delhi stood at 25,083.


The national capital has so far reported 14,38,153 cases of COVID, of which over 14.12 lakh have recovered. The active caseload in the city decreased from 415 on Thursday to 399 on Friday.
