New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India will rank among the top three economies in his third term. He was addressing the inaugural event of the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) complex at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan on Wednesday.
"In my third term, India will be among the top three economies in the world...Yeh Modi ki guarantee hai," the Prime Minister said.
PM Modi inaugurated the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) complex and unveiled its new name --Bharat Mandapam. The revamped complex was developed at a cost of about Rs 2,700 crore and has a campus area of approximately 123 acres, PTI reported.
Speaking about the country's development, PM Modi said, "Think big, dream big, act big - India is progressing at a rapid pace adopting this principle. India is now achieving things that were unimaginable earlier."
Slamming those who "think negative" and trying to "stall development", PM Modi said, "This 'Bharat Mandapam' is a gift for the country as we celebrate 75 years of Independence. Just like privately accepting the grandeur of Kartavya Path, 'toli' of negative thinkers will one day acknowledge Bharat Mandapam also. The world will witness the rising stature of India when newly built Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi hosts G20 summit."
Citing data from the Niti Aayog report, PM Modi said that 13.5 crore people have come out of poverty in the last five years.
"International agencies are also saying that extreme poverty in India is on the verge of ending. This shows that the decisions and policies that have been made in the last nine years are taking the country in the right direction," he said.
Notably, the IECC complex has been developed as India's largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination. The IECC Complex finds its place among the top exhibition and convention complexes in the world in terms of the covered space available for events.
