New Delhi: In the wake of rising problem of child trafficking and sexual abuse, India is set to host a march against the same to break the silence surrounding these crimes.
It is being said, it would be the longest march ever organized by any country.
The march would be month long, that will start from India’s southern- most tip Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 11 and will end in New Delhi on October 16.
Over 10 million people from across India are expected to take part in it.
The participants are expected to travel 6,835 miles and would cover 22 states .They will stop in towns and villages, will visit schools and colleges and hold events with local people.
According to Kailash Satyarthi’s he announces the history’s biggest movement at the launch of his “Safe Childhood, Safe India” campaign.
This is not an ordinary crime and we cannot accept it.We have to break our silence and raise our voice and unite as a nation.
Government data shows that there has been an increase by 27 percent from the previous year. Most are from rural areas and are lured by traffickers who promise them good jobs and sell them into slavery.
Some work as domestic workers or in small scale industries, farming and some are found but remain missing.
We should not be ashamed of sexual violence,we should tell communities to speak out.Now its time to push for the human trafficking to make the children safe.
