New Delhi: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday will launch a song and audio-visual film at Red Ford to mark India's milestone for administering one billion COVID-19 vaccine doses.
As per the Reuters report, India has currently administered 998.5 million doses of the covid-19 vaccines, and around 90% of them are the AstraZeneca vaccine produced locally by the Serum Institute of India.
The Office of Dr Mansukh Mandaviya on its official Twitter handle writes, "Dr @MansukhMandaviya ji will launch a song and audio-visual film to celebrate India's milestone of 100 crore covid-19 vaccinations."
Earlier on Wednesday, Union Health Minister Dr Mandaviya on his official Twitter handle appealed to the people who are still to be vaccinated to get the covid-19 vaccine dose immediately.
"The country is close to making a vaccine century. To be a part of this golden opportunity, I appeal to the countrymen that those who are yet to be vaccinated, by getting vaccinated immediately, contribute to this historic golden vaccination journey of India," he said.
Union government wants that all of India's adult population to get a covid-19 vaccine done by this year. However, currently, around 75% of them have at least got one dose of the covid-19 vaccine while nearly 31% have received both doses.
India continues to report less than 15000 Coronavirus COVID-19 cases and 19,446 recoveries in the last 24 hrs as per Union Health Ministry.
So far, India has registered a total of 3,41,08,996 covid-19 cases, out of which, 3,34,78,247 are recovered, and 1,78,098 are active cases. As many as 99,12,82,283 vaccinations have been administered till now.
