New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday during the BJP Parliamentary meeting became emotional while talking about situation in Türkiye saying "we also have faced such horrors" during the Bhuj earthquake in 2001. Condolences were expressed in the meeting on the tragedy owing to the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria. PM Modi spoke about giving all possible help from India.


He also appreciated the Union Budget presented this year saying that it has paved way for positive discussion on India's economy in the world. "India's economy is being discussed in a positive way all over the world" and that "the discussion has increased further after the kind of budget was presented this year," he said. 


"Interests of the poor have been at the centre of every budget of our government," he added.


BJP Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said that people against the Bharatiya Janata Party have also welcomed the budget, which was mentioned by the PM also. "If we had been given a mantra in the budget, we would have delivered things to every poor in the country," he added. 






The weekly meeting of the saffron party takes place every Tuesday when the House is in function. Discussions on crucial issues including the recently passed Union Budget 2023-24 took place in the meeting. 


Among top leaders, the meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narednra Modi, BJP national President JP Nadda and others.


The Budget Session of the Parliament began on January 31 this year with the joint address by President Droupadi Murmu. Union Budget 2023-24 was tabled by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1.

Amid uproar by the Opposition over the Adani issue, there has been no business in Parliament since the presentation of the Budget. The Opposition has been demanding response from the government about the Adani stock issue which saw disruption in both the Houses of Parliament. 


Opposition parties are also demanding a joint parliamentary committe probe into the allegations of stock manipulation against the Adani Group.
