New Delhi: India has reported a rise in the Covid cases again. The country reported 40,120 new Covid-19 cases, 42,295 recoveries & 585 deaths in the last 24 hours. The Union Health Ministry informed that India's Active caseload currently 3,85,227. Active cases constitute 1.20% of total cases, which is lowest since Mar 2020.


42,295 patients recovered during last 24 hours. With this, the total recoveries across the country so far are 3,13,02,345. The claimed of achieving highest ever Recovery Rate, currently at 97.46%. Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.13% while Daily positivity rate at 2.04%; less than 3% for last 18 days.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) informed that 48,94,70,779 samples were tested for COVID-19, up to 12th August 2021. Of these, 19,70,495 samples were tested yesterday. 


India’s Cumulative COVID Vaccination Coverage has exceeded 52.89 crore (52,89,27,844). As per the 7 pm provisional report from yesterday, more than 50 lakh (50,77,491) Vaccine Doses were administered in past 24 hours.


27,83,649 vaccine doses were administered as first dose and 4,85,193 vaccine doses given as second dose in the age group 18-44 years today. Cumulatively, 18,76,63,555 persons in the age group 18-44 years across 37 States/UTs have received their first dose and total 1,39,23,085 have received their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive.


Five States namely Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than 1 Crore Cumulative Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine in the age group 18-44 years. Also, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.
