The claims have not been confirmed by Army officials yet. They are in contact with local units for gathering information and will subsequently release the information.

As per posts on social media, the names of the five abducted boys are:

  • Tanu Bakar

An official confirmation in this regard is awaited.

It is pertinent to note that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is in Moscow, met with his Chinese counterpart Wei Fenghe on Friday night in the first face to face contact at the political level in an attempt to break the deadlock on disengagement and de-escalation.

The meeting was held at the request of Chinese foreign ministry, as per sources.

However, the talks between the two leaders did not seem fruitful again, as China tried to blame India for the ongoing border tensions in Ladakh.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was told by his Chinese counterpart Wei Fenghe during their meeting in Moscow that "responsibility (recent events in Ladakh) lies entirely with India", China's Ministry of Defence has claimed.
