The Ministry of External Affair spokesperson Anurag Srivastava on Friday reportedly briefed about the developments in military talks between the officials of India and China. As per quoted by news agency PTI, the spokesperson mentioned that both India and China agreed that full restoration of peace and tranquility in border areas was essential for overall ties.
Srivasta was quoted as saying, "Two sides agreed it is necessary to sincerely implement understandings reached between senior commanders in meetings."
The official further said that both the sides agreed on having another meeting of senior commanders. As per the reports, the military-level meeting may be held soon to work out steps to ensure full disengagement on the Eastern Ladakh front along the Line of Actual Control.
Earlier this week, there were several reports saying China has indicated its unwillingness to de-escalate the situation. According to the reports, People's Liberation Army (PLA) refused to move back.

Despite multiple rounds of talks at the government and Army level and intervention at the senior level officials, Chinese troops have indicated their disagreement to the de-escalation terms as heavy military force continues to be deployed at the Eastern Ladakh front.
Indian Army and Chinese troops have been engaged in a standoff along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh sector since May which has led to simmering tensions between the two neighbouring nations on the diplomatic front. The heated escalation on ground took an ugly turn on June 15 on account of a massive face-off between the troops in the Galwan Valley region which led to casualties on both sides.
Since the incident, both India and China have help multiple rounds of diplomatic as well as military level talks to restore peace and douse off the border dispute.
