Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday targeted the opposition's I.N.D.I.A bloc saying that the group's target is to throw out the Bharatiya Janata Party government. Modi made the remarks as the leader of the opposition bloc gathered in the national capital for their fourth meeting ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. 


"INDIA bloc's goal is to throw out our govt, our govt's goal is to create bright future for country," PM Modi said during the BJP Parliamentary meeting in New Delhi Senior leaders of the BJP including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president JP Nadda, and defence minister Rajnath Singh attended the party's parliamentary meeting held in the Parliament's Library Building on Tuesday. 






Addressing the party leaders, PM Modi targeted the Opposition saying it is "rattled by assembly poll losses and disrupting Parliament in frustration."

Following the meeting, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "PM Modi said that today is the last Tuesday meeting of 2023 for the Parliament. Around 2.5 blocks in the Hall are filled with BJP MPs, by 2024 the entire block will be filled with BJP MPs...The objective of INDIA alliance is to oust PM Modi's government from power but our objective is to brighten the future of the country."


The leaders of opposition's I.N.D.I.A bloc are scheduled to hold their fourth meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss seat distribution, a single campaign blueprint, and redrawing the united strategy to take on the BJP following the recent assembly elections.


The earlier three meetings were held in Patna, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. Mamata Banerjee, Uddhav Thackeray, Lalu Prasad Yadav and several other opposition leaders have arrived in the national capital for the meeting.

The meeting comes a day after the opposition lost its strengh in the Parliament as a total of 78 MPs were suspended from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for unruly behaviour and disregarding the directions of the Chair.


Of the total 95 lawmakers from I.N.D.I.A bloc in Rajya Sabha, 45 were suspended on Monday while another MP from Aam Aadmi Party, Sanjay Singh is currently behind the bars in the Delhi liquor policy case and stands already suspended. 


Meanwhile in Lok Sabha, 46 of the 113 opposition MPs, around one-third, stand suspended. he 46 include 33 suspended on Monday and 13 earlier.
