Several Union ministers and chief ministers hoisted the national flag on Wednesday as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign ahead of the 78th Independence Day Thursday.
Home Minister Amit Shah hoisted the national flag atop his residence in Delhi, and took the moment to "remember the heroes who sacrificed everything for the country's Independence".
In a post on X, Shah wrote in Hindi, “Under Modi ji's Har Ghar Tiranga campaign the whole country is becoming tricoloured. Today, by hoisting the Tricolour at my residence in New Delhi, I remembered the heroes who sacrificed everything for the country's Independence. The Tricolour will continue to flutter for eternity as a symbol of unity, loyalty and pride of crores of countrymen."
The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign was launched in 2022, and seeks to encourage citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes to mark Independence Day, and post selfies with the Tricolour.
The other ministers who hoisted the national flag at their residence on Wednesday incuded Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also seen hoisting the national flag.
Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini hoisted the Tricolour at his official residence 'Sant Kabir Kutir'.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday hoisted the Tiranga at his residence in Lucknow and took a selfie with it.
