Independence Day 2022 Highlights: Hello and welcome to ABP Live for our coverage of Independence Day 2022 celebrations. As India completes 75 years of independence, the overall mood of the nation is exuberant. The spirit of the platinum jubilee is reflected by the celebratory motto 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'.
The Independence Day 2022 festivities are being kicked off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be addressing the nation from Red Fort. It will be PM Modi's ninth consecutive Independence Day speech. Celebrations at Red Fort will kick off with Prime Minister unfurling the Tricolour and will receive a ‘Rashtriya Salute’ followed by the customary address to the nation.
The Air Force band will play the national anthem during the unfurling of the national flag which is also synchronised with the 21-gun salute fired by the valiant gunners of the elite 8711 Field Battery (Ceremonial).
Security Around Red Fort Beefed Up
In view of the Independence Day 2022 celebrations, Delhi Police has made elaborate security arrangements in and around the Red Fort area and the national capital. A multi-layered security cover along with Facial Recognition System cameras have been installed at each entry and exit point at Red Fort where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation. Over ten thousand police personnel will be deployed to ensure fool-proof security arrangements.
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
To capture the essence of 75 years of India's progress the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 12, 2021, and will end next year on August 15, 2023.
In order to commemorate 75 years of independence, multiple initiatives have been taken by the Centre to involve the mass like the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.
