Independence Day 2020: On August 15, 1947 India attained its freedom from British colonials after years of struggle in which many laid down their lives. This year the nation celebrates the 74th Independence day this year. The occasion sees aa grand celebration and the Prime Minister addresses the nation from the Red Fort in New Delhi. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the celebrations will be a somber affair and several precautions will be taken to ensure that the infection does not spread.
