Delhi Police claimed on Sunday that a 10-year-old child was physically beaten and sodomised by three of his buddies in northeast Delhi's New Seelampur district, news agency PTI reported.

Swati Maliwal, the chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), tweeted about the assault, saying, "In Delhi, not even boys are safe."

According to authorities, two accused have been arrested, and attempts are being made to apprehend the remaining one of them, said DCP North, Sanjay Sain, quoted by news agency ANI adding that an FIR has been registered under POCSO and other sections.

In this regard, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) sent a notice to the police and urged harsh punishment against the offenders.

According to the DCW, it received a complaint from a mom who said her kid was sexually molested by strangers who even placed a rod into his private regions.

The police, however, stated that the investigation has not found that a rod was placed in the victim's private regions, but that a medical check will determine this.

The victim and the accused are neighbours who are both between the ages of 10 and 12. They are from the same neighbourhood, according to police, who added that the event occurred on September 18.

On September 22, police got word from LNJP hospital that a 10-year-old kid had been hospitalised after being physically attacked, according to authorities. A police team arrived at the hospital right away and talked with the child's parents, who declined to provide a statement. According to investigators, the infant was under medical monitoring.

Despite continuous contact from the investigative officer, the family declined to provide a statement until Saturday. According to a senior police official, the police then arranged for a therapist from an organisation called 'Sakhi' to advise the youngster and his mother.

According to the police, after prolonged counselling, the victim's mother revealed that on September 18, her son was physically abused and sodomised by his three buddies.

According to him, a complaint was filed based on her testimony under sections 377 (Unnatural Offenses) and 34 (Common Intention) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection Of Children Sexual Offenses Act.

According to authorities, the victim is currently being treated in a hospital.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) submitted a notice to the police in connection with the incident on Sunday.

According to the DCW, it received a complaint from a parent who claimed her kid was sexually molested. According to the panel, she said that on September 18, her child was sexually molested by persons who even placed a rod into his private regions.

However, police stated that the inquiry has not found that a rod was placed in the victim's private regions, but that a medical check will determine this.

The suspects, according to the woman, also beat up her son with bricks and rods. The youngster is in the hospital after informing his parents about the event on September 22. By September 28, the panel has requested a copy of the FIR filed in the case, as well as information on the apprehended suspects and a thorough action taken report.

"This is a very horrific incident. The boy was gang-raped by four persons who inserted a rod in his private part and beat him up mercilessly. The boy is presently admitted in hospital and is in ICU. Our team is continuously present with the family and assisting them. The accused must be arrested immediately and strictest action must be taken against them," DCW chief Swati Maliwal was quoted by PTI in its report.
