Weather Updates: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that with the reactivation of the Southwest Monsoon, heavy rain is likely to occur in many parts of the South, West, and North India today. The IMD said, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at different places in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala today. However, the rain will start to slow down after some time.


Rain expected in many parts of Telangana-Chhattisgarh


According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in many parts of South Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Vidarbha and southern Chhattisgarh today on September 7 due to the possible low-pressure region moving towards North-West India. The department said the region of North Marathwada, North Madhya Maharashtra, North Konkan, and Gujarat is likely to receive rain from September 7-9.


Himachal, Uttarakhand, North Punjab may also receive rain


Heavy rain is expected at different places in North Konkan during September 7-8, Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat region on September 8 and Telangana on September 7. From September 7-9, scattered to heavy rainfall are likely to occur in most parts of North-West India, with heavy rains at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Punjab, and Jammu region, and eastern Rajasthan.


Today's Weather Forecast-



  • Some regions of South Orissa, South Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Karnataka, South Madhya Pradesh and East Gujarat may experience light to moderate rain along with heavy rain in few other regions.

  • Light to moderate rainfall is possible in North Eastern India, West Bengal, Sikkim, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, rest of Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Eastern Rajasthan.

  • Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep are expected to receive light rainfall.
