Ahead of the title clash of the ICC Cricket World Cup between India and Australia, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has said that a political event is organised on every occasion, be it someone's death or cricket, since PM Narendra Modi-led government has come into power in the country. Taking a jibe at the Centre and saffron party, Raut said there was no need to bring politics into cricket but it was being done in Ahmedabad, where India will play Australia.

He said it seemed as if PM Modi will bowl and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will bat. "In this country, a political event is being organised for everything since Modi Govt has come to power in Centre and in several states...There is no need to bring politics in Cricket but it is being done in Ahmedabad. As if PM Modi will bowl, Amit Shah will bat and BJP leaders will stand at the boundary," he said.

"We will get to hear that we won the World Cup since PM Modi was there. Anything happens in this country, nowadays..." Raut added.

This comes amid the cricket fever that has gripped the country ahead of the India versus Australia final match at Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Prayers and havans are being performed across the country for the Indian team's victory after the men in blue reached the finals of the world cup after 12 years.
