A financial relief package of Rs 2 crore was announced for the family of nine-year-old Sritej who is currently undergoing treatment at KIMS Hospital following the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident on December 4. The announcement was made on Wednesday by film producer Allu Aravind, father of actor Allu Arjun, during his visit to the hospital to check on Sritej's condition.


After meeting the injured child Sritej, film producer and actor Allu Arjun’s father Allu Aravind said, “…After speaking to the doctors, we are very happy to know that the boy is recovering... To support him and his family, we have decided to give an amount of Rs 2 crore- Rs one crore has been given by Allu Arjun and Rs 50 lakhs given by the producers and 50 lakhs by the director. This amount is being handed over to Dil Raju, Chairman of Telangana Film Development Corporation..."

Meanwhile, Sritej's father said that the condition of his son was improving. According to a medical bulletin, "Sritej continues to maintain stable vital parameters on own without any oxygen or ventilatory support. His sensorium is similar with spontaneous eye opening and spontaneous limb movements but there is still no meaningful eye contact or recognition of family members. He is waking on verbal stimulus but not following any oral commands. He has intermittent dystonic movements and stiffness in his limbs for which medicines are being given."


"He needs intermittent suctioning of the tracheostomy tube. He is tolerating feeds via nasogastric tube well and is afbrile since last three days," the bulletin said.
