Hours after making second arrest in the gangrape of a minor girl in Hyderabad on Saturday, the police made third arrest in the case. All three are minors and have been produced before a Juvenile Court for their custody, reported news agency ANI. One accused, Saduddin Malik was arrested yesterday.

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped in Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills area while she was returning home from a get-together at a pub last week. A case of “outraging modesty” was initially filed by the police after the victim's family members lodged a complaint in this regard on May 31.

Later the police registered a case under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The girl was sent for a medical examination.

Addressing a press conference on Friday night, Deputy Commissioner of Police Joel Davis said a case on charges of outraging the modesty of a woman and under relevant sections of the POCSO Act was registered after they received a complaint from the father of the victim, reported PTI

"Investigation teams have collected and analysed CCTV footage and other evidence, and have identified five people," said Joel Davis, the news agency reported.

"Police teams are on the job of apprehending the other accused, and they will be apprehended within 48 hours," the Deputy Commissioner added.

The girl spoke of her ordeal after she was sent to a 'Bharosa' support centre for women and children of the city police as she is a minor.

The 17-year-old had reportedly gone to a pub in the city for a get-together with friends on May 28. She left for home at around 5.30 p.m. when some youngsters, whom she had met at the pub, stopped her.
