A video of the victim being beaten by the two accused went viral on social media.

The video footage shows the victim, along with a four-year-old child, emerging from their house, reportedly after an argument with Chanda, and then getting assaulted by her husband.

The victim told a local television channel that the two accused were forcing her to “meet” a government official in Gandhinagar, identified by her as Shuklaji.

“They force me to do what they want and when I resist, they torture me,” she told the channel.

Lilaben Ankolia, chairperson of the Gujarat State Commission for Women said that the commission had taken note of the video and had asked police to provide justice to the victim.

“As soon as I saw the video, I contacted the police and asked them to arrest the accused at the earliest,” Ankolia said.
