Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday addressed BJP supporters at a public meeting in Chhattisgarh's Durg where he said Pakistan 'Aliya, Maliya, Jamalia' beheaded soldiers but the Congress government remained silent, adding that Pakistan was used to this and tried to repeat the same act in Kashmir but within 10 days, PM Modi gave them a befitting reply with the surgical strike. He also remarked that the people of Chhattisgarh are waiting for the state election due later this year to oust the Bhupesh Baghel-led state government.

Addressing a public meeting at Pandit Ravi Shankar Stadium in Durg, Amit Shah said, "Even opposition cannot accuse the Modi govt of corruption. Nine years ago, terrorists from Pakistan intruded on India's land and killed our soldiers, but the then Congress govt remained silent. After Modi became PM, Pakistan tried to do the same, and within 10 days, we gave a befitting reply to Pakistan with surgical strike and air strike."

He further attacked the grand old party saying, "The Congress kept nourishing Article 370 like a child for 70 years. On August 5, 2019, PM Modi removed Article 370. Rahul Gandhi had then insisted on not revoking Article 370."

Shah claimed that the people of Chhattisgarh are waiting for the state election. "They will remove you (Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel) and bring the BJP back to power," he remarked.

"I thank the people of Chhattisgarh for giving 10 out of 11 seats to the BJP in 2014 (Lok Sabha polls) and all the 11 seats to the BJP in 2019. With your blessings, Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister twice with a complete majority," Shah said.

The Union Home Minister asserted that the Modi government brought Left Wing Extremism under control in nine years, while also saying that the past nine years were "nine years of India's pride, welfare for poor, and India's progress."

The Chhattisgarh government has failed on all fronts and the countdown of the Bhupesh Baghel-led regime has started, Amit Shah said, remarking that the Congress promised to ban alcohol, but started home delivery of liquor. The Congress promised to give 10 lakh jobs but did not give jobs to the youth, he added.

Before his rally, Shah met Padma Shri awardee Pandwani singer Usha Barle as part of BJP's 'Maha Jansampark Abhiyan'.

Amit Shah In Madhya Pradesh

After his visit to Chhattisgarh, the Home Minister will lead the Bharatiya Janata Party's Gaurav Yatra in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat today. The events are being held as part of the BJP's nationwide campaign to highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government in the last nine years. The visits are also expected to sound BJP's poll campaign bugle ahead of the state elections slated to happen in both Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh later this year.

The Home Minister will then take part in a 1.5 km roadshow in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat. The roadshow will be held from Jaistambh Chowk in Balaghat to Dr. Ambedkar Chowk and CM Rise School where he will address another public meeting at 4 pm.
