New Delhi: The Delhi metro rail corporation issued an update of guidelines on Tuesday for the upcoming festival of Holi. It said that the Delhi metro services will not be available till 2:30 pm on the day of Holi, that is March 18, Friday. However, the services will be restored after 2:30 pm and will run as regular.
“On the day of the 'Holi' festival, i.e., 18th March 2022 (Friday), Metro services will NOT be available till 14.30 Hrs (2:30 PM) on all lines of Delhi Metro including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line,” a press release by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said.
“Metro train services will thus start at 14.30 Hrs (2:30 PM) from terminal stations on all lines on 18th March and will continue normally thereafter,” it added.
The DMRC has recently made its services available with 100 percent capacity for passengers sitting and standing in the light of the declining covid-19 cases.
Earlier, the Delhi metro was running on 50 percent capacity to ensure covid-19 appropriate behaviour.
The cap was later lifted, and the services were made available with 100 percent sitting capacity.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, metro services experienced a delay on Pink, Violet, and Green lines.
After two hours of inconvenience, the services were restored. DMRC informed about the same via its official Twitter handle.
“Services have been normalised. However, to avoid any further inconvenience, the system is still under observation. Passengers are requested to allow for some extra time in their commute,” DMRC tweeted.
