Hindi Diwas 2021: Hindi is the most spoken language in India. Any of the thoughts that come to our minds are probably in Hindi language and that is why it is also called as the language of the mind. September 14 is very special for people who speak Hindi language as this day is celebrated as 'Hindi Day'. On the occasion of this day, a variety of programs are organized in schools, colleges etc.
The biggest question faced by the country after the British left India was which language should be given the title of the language of the country because a range of regional languages is spoken in this country. Keeping this in mind, Hindi was given official language status on September 14, 1949, in India. From this day onwards September 14 was termed special and is being celebrated as Hindi Day.
History of Hindi Day
After the independence of the country in 1947, the question of national language was raised before the House of the Constituent Assembly constituted to frame a Constitution in the country. Thus keeping in mind the sentiments of all regional people, Hindi along with English was chosen as the official language of India. It was then declared as an official language on September 14, 1949. Therefore since 1953, this day is celebrated as Hindi Day on the recommendation of the National Language Publicity Committee January 10 is celebrated as World Hindi Day (World Hindi Day) all over the world.
