JMM chief Hemant Soren has taken oath as the 14th Jharkhand CM for the fourth time in Ranchi on Thursday, after the victory of the JMM-led alliance in the Assembly elections. The oath was administered by Governor Santosh Gangwar.


According to a report by news agency ANI, the swearing-in ceremony took place at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi with several key leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Mallikarjun Kharge, and KC Venugopal from Congress, who were present. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Deputy CM and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav were also part of the ceremony.


AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal, party MP Raghav Chadha, and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann attended Hemant Soren's oath-taking ceremony.

For the first time in the history of Jharkhand, an incumbent government that completed a full five-year term has returned to power. Before the ceremony in Ranchi, Soren greeted the audience at the venue.  


On Sunday, November 24, Soren resigned as Jharkhand’s Chief Minister and staked a claim to form the next government during a meeting with Governor Santosh Gangwar at Raj Bhawan.  


JMM-led I.N.D.I.A Bloc Secure 56 Seats In Jharkhand Assembly Polls


The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led I.N.D.I.A bloc achieved a decisive victory, securing 56 of the 81 assembly seats. The JMM itself won 34 seats, while allies contributed 22 seats. Among them, the Congress secured 16, the RJD won four, and the CPI-ML bagged two seats.  


Meanwhile, the BJP-led NDA managed to win only 24 seats, with the BJP securing 21. Its allies, the AJSU Party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), and JD-U, won one seat each. The Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha also won a seat, with its leader Jairam Kumar Mahato emerging victorious in the Dumri constituency.
