New Delhi: In the country's capital Delhi, fines are being imposed for running generators, playing loudspeakers, and bursting firecrackers. Strict action can be taken for violating this rule. The Central Pollution Control Board has given this information.
A senior DPCC official said, “Last year, the Central Pollution Control Board had proposed a new amount of fine to be imposed for violation of Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules. This proposal has been accepted by the National Green Tribunal. The CPCB had given statutory orders in April this year to issue directions to implement the new compensation scale for noise pollution violations."
Fine will be imposed for running the generator in an open space
According to the rules, the generator manufacturing company will have to disclose the manufacturing date. The person running the generator and buying it should have the document. Apart from this, there is a ban on running the generator in open space. People who violate the rules may be fined up to 50 thousand rupees.
Action will be taken against those who play loudspeakers
Many a time people have to face inconvenience due to the noise pollution caused by loudspeakers in functions or programs. The state government has imposed strict rules on the use of loudspeakers. People who do not follow the rules may have to pay a fine of 10 thousand to 1 lakh rupees.
Bursting crackers after the stipulated time will also attract a fine
According to the rule, a fine can also be imposed for bursting firecrackers after the stipulated time. Under this, a fine of up to 1 thousand rupees can be imposed in the residential zone, while up to 3 thousand rupees in the commercial zone.
