WATCH: Bajrang Dal, VHP Workers Try To Break Police Barricades During Protest In Delhi Over Nuh Violence

Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) are staging protests across Delhi against the recent violent clashes in Haryana's Nuh.

Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) workers on Wednesday staged protests across various areas of Delhi in response to the communal unrest in Haryana's Nuh. The demonstrators blocked the National Highway along the Badarpur border. However, Delhi Police stated that no permission had been obtained for the protest rallies or gatherings in public spaces.

Police barricades were put up at Delhi's Ghonda Chowk where a large gathering of Bajrang Dal workers are staging a protest. A video of the agitation showed the protesters trying to break the police barricades while raising slogans of "Jai Shri Ram".

In light of the ongoing violence in different parts of Haryana, the police have intensified security measures at locations considered 'sensitive' within the national capital, news agency PTI. The communal disturbances within the state have led to the loss of six lives up to now. The Bajrang Dal reported the death of one of their activists, Pradeep Sharma, on Wednesday due to injuries sustained during these events.

The initial outbreak of violence occurred on Monday during the Brijmandal Jalabhishek Yatra conducted by the Bajrang Dal and VHP in Nuh. Preceding this incident, tensions had been building in the district due to the reported murders of Junaid and Nasir in Bhiwani, allegedly carried out by members associated with the Bajrang Dal, reported The Indian Express. The violence extended to Gurugram on Tuesday, resulting in the death of the naib imam of Anjuman Jama Masjid, Mohammad Saad. He was purportedly stabbed as a mob set fire to the mosque. The unrest also led to the vandalization and burning of numerous shops within the district.

The clashes are being partially attributed to a "provocative" video shared on social media by Monu Manesar, who identifies himself as a 'gau rakshak' or a cow vigilante and was accused of killing two cattle traders last year. In the video, Manesar is seen asking people to participate in a religious procession. The Haryana Police has said that an SIT will investigate cow vigilante Monu Manesar's video in connection to the violence in Nuh, Haryana.
