Darshan Singh Brar, an 80-year-old man from Haryana, was certified dead by doctors and then allegedly rebounded to life after an ambulance carrying his alleged corpse hit a pothole, NDTV reported. According to Brar's family, their older relative was declared dead in Patiala and was on his way to his house near Karnal for funeral services when the ambulance hit the pothole. Brar's grandson, who was riding in the ambulance with him, noticed movement and detected a heartbeat. He immediately directed the driver to the nearest hospital, where medical personnel confirmed Brar's vitality.
The octogenarian, who has been described as a heart patient, is being treated at a hospital in Karnal.
His health has been characterized as severe by medics, who say he is having difficulties breathing owing to a chest infection.
Balwan Singh, one of Brar's grandchildren, said the family learned of his death on Thursday morning and had already made funeral arrangements in their hometown of Nising.
Mourning relatives and local neighbours had arrived, with tents, food, and wood for the cremation on hand.
Speaking with NDTV, Singh stated: "My brother in Patiala informed us around 9 am on Thursday about our grandfather's death, and he was getting him to Nising (roughly 100 km away) in an ambulance for his last rites. We had informed our relatives and other local residents who knew him and they had already gathered to mourn his passing. A tent had been set up and food had also been arranged for the mourners. We had also got wood for the cremation."
During the drive, the ambulance hit a pothole at Dhand hamlet in Haryana's Kaithal, resulting in the surprising finding of Brar's apparent vitality. The family is now grateful for what they consider a miracle and wishes Brar a swift recovery.
According to NDTV, Dr Netrapal from Rawal Hospital in Karnal, where Brar is presently being treated, remarked on the matter, emphasising the confusion surrounding the previous hospital's occurrences.
"The family said he was on a ventilator in Patiala for four days but he is now breathing on his own. He is still critical and in the ICU. The breathing is laborious because he has an infection in his chest," the doctor stated.
