New Delhi: Polling for Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on October 21 while counting of votes will take place three days later on October 24, Election Commission chief Sunil Arora said on Saturday. Both Maharashtra and Haryana are the first states to go to polls after the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year.

While the term of incumbent BJP government in Haryana ends on November 2, the BJP-Shiv Sena Maharashtra Legislative Assembly’s tenure concludes on November 9. Will the effect of removing 370 in Kashmir be seen in the electoral states? Will unemployment become an issue or will the topic of Ram temple work in favour of BJP? Will Congress be able to impress the general public or will the BJP continue to rule in these states? ABP News will be answering all these questions today in the opinion poll.

While the tenure of the Haryana Legislative expires on November 2, the term of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly ends on November 9. The term of the 288-strong Maharashtra Assembly expires on November 8. In the outgoing Maharashtra house the BJP had 122, Shiv Sena 63, Congress 42 and Nationalist Congress Party 41 and others 20.
