New Delhi: A student named Harjot Singh was caught in the middle of a shooting and was hit multiple times in Ukraine. The injured student was later taken to a hospital in Kyiv where he was given treatment.
Harjot Singh was trying to make his way to Lviv from Kyiv city via the metro, but the Ukrainian forces who were stationed there didn't allow Indian students to board the trains. He met two male students and they decided to hire a taxi.

The taxis hiked up the costs when they finally found one who agreed, they had just travelled a little ahead when the shooting began. He said the first bullet entered through the window and missed him.
Harjot said he was shot at 2 or 3 times including one near his chest, one on the leg which has been fractured. He finally gained consciousness in the hospital after which he began contacting his parents and then the embassy for help.
Harjot is from Chattarpur, Delhi, he is a student in Kyiv learning the language and worked as an IT specialist before the conflict began. Harjot said that he has been in contact with many officials but they haven't tried to help him even though he needs a safe passage and some extra help to make it out of Kyiv because of his fractured leg.
Like Harjot, many students are either stuck in bunkers or can't make their way to railway stations to take the special trains which will go to Western regions.
