WATCH | Waterlogged Road In Gurugram Causes Traffic Snarl, More Rain Forecast In Delhi-NCR
The weather department had issued a ‘yellow alert’ for Saturday, cautioning people of moderate intensity rain at most places in Delhi-NCR.
New Delhi: Rain continued to lash Delhi-NCR for the third consecutive day on Saturday, leading to waterlogged roads and traffic snarls at several places. Haryana's Gurugram, a technology hub having several offices was on of the worst affected areas by the rains. Since Thursday, the people of the city have been witnessing a harrowing time.
The weather department had issued a ‘yellow alert’ for Saturday, cautioning people of moderate intensity rain at most places in Delhi-NCR with heavy rains at isolated locations, reported PTI.

The minimum temperature in Delhi on Saturday settled at 22.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, with a forecast of a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain later in the day. The city received 15 mm of rainfall from 8.30 am on Friday to 8.30 am Saturday, according to data shared by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The Delhi-Jaipur highway in Manesar has been waterlogged, slowing down traffic.
On Friday more than 50 areas were affected due to waterlogging, in Gurugram alone.
The teams of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) along with cops were seen making efforts to drain the water, on Friday.
According to ANI, the weather forecasting agency in its all India weather summary and forecast bulletin this morning said, "a western disturbance as a trough in mid-tropospheric westerlies run roughly, under whose influence, the current spell of rainfall is likely to continue over northwest India for next few days followed by a reduction thereafter."
Delhi Traffic Police, also tweeted on Saturday "As per IMD report, Light to moderate intensity rain would occur over Delhi and adjoining areas. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly."
