NEW DELHI: Additional sessions judge Krishan Kant Sharma's son Dhruv, who was critically injured after being shot at by the judge's security guard last week in Gurugram, succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday.  Earlier on October 13, Kant's wife Ritu (45) and son Dhruv (18) had gone for shopping in the Arcadia market when they were shot by their security guard Mahipal. News agency ANI reported that the son died this morning. 18-year-old Dhruv, who was shot in the head and was on life support system after being declared brain dead.

The man who shot the two in front of several eye-witnesses was a Haryana police head constable Mahipal and was serving as the personal security guard of the judge for two years. He had been demanding leave to go home for the past few days but this was not granted.

DCP had said that on October 13, Ritu and son had asked Mahipal to wait near the car until they came back. But on returning, they did not find him. When he came back, they scolded him for not being near the car. He started to manhandle Dhruv in the car and shot at him once he stepped out. When his mother Ritu came to his rescue, Mahipal fired on her too and she died later in hospital.

In the video of the horrific incident recorded by a witness, Mahipal is seen with the gun in his hand. He was also seen trying to push Dhruv inside the car as he laid listless on the road. Additional Sessions Judge Krishan Kant in a statement said that after committing the crime, Mahipal informed him about the incident on the phone.
