Gurugram: A clash broke out in Gurugram between two communities over reading of Namaz in open.

As per reports, right-wing groups disrupted Muslim men from offering Friday Namaz prayers in open plots in Gurugram.

Today’s incident seconds the April 20 incident when similar disruptions were created by the right-wing groups against the Friday Namaz. It was later followed by protest rallies by the right-wing organisations demanding a ban on Friday Namaz in open areas.

It is alleged that on Friday, Namaz prayers could not be offered at various places in Gurugram due to the disturbances.

The controversy started at a field in sector 53 of Gurugram where few men had stopped people gathered for Namaz from offering it. The police had subsequently arrested six men in relation to this incident. This had sparked protests among the right-wingers.

Namaz was then offered by the Muslim group in the open space under the strict vigil of the police.

However, as per the reports today again the Muslim group was prevented from offering the Friday (Jumma) Namaz.

The protesting groups are claiming that the two parties had reached an agreement after police intervention. It was agreed upon by both parties that the Muslim group would read Namaz in Mosque. However the Muslim groups are now alleging that they were not allowed to offer their Friday Namaz and the police the administration was not helping them.
