Every year, Guru Nanak Jayanti is observed on the full moon of Kartik month. This event will be observed on November 8 this year. Because Guru Nanak Dev was born on this day, it is also referred to as Guru Purab or Prakash Parv. He was born in the year 1469 on the day of Kartik Purnima. This birth anniversary is very special for the followers of Sikhism. Because of this, Sikhs organise numerous events, including kirtan, on this day in gurudwaras around the nation.
The holy book known as Guru Granth Sahib contains a compilation of all of Guru Nanak's teachings. This sacred text, which is centered on the notion that the universe's creator is one, serves as the foundation of the Sikh faith. The day is celebrated in the early morning following a procession to Gurudwaras.
